“Šviesos gamyba” UAB is a long-established manufacturer of lighting systems, helping manufacturing, service and commercial companies to design and implement optimal lighting and disinfection solutions.
Together with a team of Lithuanian scientists and engineers, we are developing new UVC LED technology. Based on this technology, we have developed products that can effectively and efficiently disinfect indoor surfaces and air, killing bacteria, viruses (including SARS-CoV-2) and other microbes, thus protecting human health and lives.
Of the total ultraviolet light spectrum, which is divided into three parts: UVA, UVB and UVC, it is the short UVC radiation (200-280 nm) that is antibacterial, as it can kill or deactivate micro-organisms. It disrupts nucleic acids and breaks down DNA and RNA, thus preventing cell reproduction. For some time now, UVC technology has been widely and effectively used for water and surface disinfection, and together with air filtration, is one of the most efficient and cost-effective air disinfection technologies.
Scientific studies have shown that UVC waves are effective in killing SARS-COV-2 family viruses. While there are many disinfection products available on the market, it is important to note that the effectiveness of the technology is directly dependent on the engineering and scientific decisions being based on experimentation and research.
